Harvest Time!

The trip back to Dorset took place late last night to our farm ready for a good days pressing and that is exactly what we done today.

Our target this year is to extract 3000 litre of apple juice from 5 tonnes of cider apples collected from our orchards and family members who wanted to help out.....plus our local cider apple orchard farmer who lives a couple of miles away.

Being our second year in production, which has tripled, the handcrafted method is tiresome work though after you look into the vat and see the achievement it's very rewarding.

Today we managed to fill one VAT half way, 750 litres, between four people. with two more tonnes being delivered tomorrow it seems the next few days are going to be extremely busy with no letting up.....apart from the England v France quater finals.
